BMO Launches New Latin America Index ETF and Two New ETF Series

Canada NewsWire

  • New ETF and ETF Series broaden investor choice across Latin American equities and Canadian and emerging-market fixed income

TORONTO, Oct. 8, 2026 /CNW/ -- BMO Asset Management Inc., the manager of the BMO ETFs, today announced the launch of BMO MSCI Latin America GDP Weighted Index ETF, offering CAD Units (TSX: ZLAT). In addition, BMO Investments Inc., the manager of the BMO Mutual Funds, today announced the launch of ETF Series units for BMO Core Bond Fund (TSX: ZCRB) and BMO Emerging Markets Bond Fund (TSX: ZEMB).

BMO MSCI Latin America GDP Weighted Index ETF has closed its initial offering of CAD Units, and they will be listed and begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange today.

BMO Core Bond Fund and BMO Emerging Markets Bond Fund have closed their initial offering of ETF Series units, and they will be listed and begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange today.

BMO MSCI Latin America GDP Weighted Index ETF seeks to replicate, to the extent possible, the performance of an index that provides exposure to equity securities of issuers domiciled in certain emerging markets in Latin America, net of expenses. Currently, this ETF seeks to replicate the performance of the MSCI EM Latin America GDP Weighted Index. The MSCI EM Latin America GDP Weighted Index is based on the MSCI Emerging Markets Latin America Index, its parent index, and currently includes large and mid cap stocks domiciled from across five emerging markets in Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Unlike its market cap-weighted parent index, the weight of each country in the index is derived from its economic size (using GDP data) rather than the size of its equity market.

BMO Core Bond Fund has a core Canadian bond strategy which invests primarily in Canadian government and corporate bonds to provide reliable income and some potential for capital growth.

BMO Emerging Markets Bond Fund is designed to invest in a diversified pool of fixed income securities such as bonds and debentures issued in or by, or have economic exposure to, emerging market countries to provide income and the potential for capital growth.

BMO MSCI Latin America GDP Weighted Index ETF (ZLAT) referred to herein is not sponsored, endorsed, or promoted by MSCI Inc. (MSCI) and MSCI bears no liability with respect to ZLAT or any index on which such BMO ETF is based. The relevant BMO ETF's prospectus contains a more detailed description of the limited relationship MSCI has with BMO Asset Management Inc. and any related BMO ETFs.
