The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a bright 115-74-121 as the TSX Venture Exchange added seven points to 594. Ewan Mason and Ken MacNeill's Star Diamond Corp., which recently doubled to 14.5 cents to start 2023, has run out of steam -- or is waiting for its second wind to kick in. Either way, Star retreated 1.5 cents to 11 cents on 468,000 shares today.

Jean-Pierre Jutras's Jade Leader Corp. (JADE) rose one-half cent to three cents on 82,000 shares. The company, which has been touting its efforts to mine and sell jade for over five years, says it has now sold an initial five-kilogram block of whitish-green nephrite jade from its DJ project in Washington. The sale is news, but the $1,004 (U.S.) price is anticlimactic, although the company applauds it as setting a baseline price of $200 (U.S.) per kilogram for the rough material.

The unnamed buyer, Jade Leader enthuses, bought the rock to "create a personal collection of jewellery," noting that the company has arranged for a third party carver to custom carve four bangles from this "unique, ethically sources white-green jade" -- bangles that it babbles will "begin the family series for four family members across three generations."
