The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was an 81-81-148 draw as the TSX Venture Exchange fell one point to 554. Dermot Desmond's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD) added one cent to 27.5 cents on 145,000 shares amid a two-month silence.
J.P. Jutras's Jade Leader Corp. (JADE) rose a cent to 4.5 cents on 5,000 shares. The company offered investors a "corporate, marketing and exploration update" to end last week -- essentially a promotional Hail Mary looking to levitate its corporate share price that is entering the fifth year of a five-cent funk. Jade's sales increased to $13,479 (U.S.) from $12,563 (U.S.) in 2022, beamed Mr. Jutras, president -- unintentionally providing a reason for the uninspired market acceptance of the company's stock and its pitch.
Jade Leader extracted 21.6 tonnes of jade-bearing rock from the Sky zone of its Wyoming-based property in 2021, and from that rock it recovered 183 kilograms of "potentially marketable jade." From that portion, the company has since sold 16.5 kilograms of rough nephrite jade. These sales, Jade Leader applauds, "indicate an effective in situ realized bulk value of $1,179 (U.S.) per tonne for rough jade, excluding sales of finished product."
