The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a so-so 83-80-147 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 11 points to 548. Laura Lee Duffett and Ken Johnson's Tres-Or Resources Ltd. (TRS) was unchanged at eight cents on 1,000 shares. Last summer, the company bought -- in a way, at least -- a large kimberlite project in the Coromandel district of Brazil from Mr. Johnson, who became a major shareholder of Tres-Or as a result. (He also joined the company's board and presumably is running the show on the Brazilian project.)
Mr. Johnson's interest in Tres-Or goes back to August, 2023, when Tres-Or acquired the Vaaldiam project from Diamond Hunters Ventures Inc. -- one of Mr. Johnson's companies -- paying 2.27 million shares deemed to be worth $193,000 at the time. Mr. Johnson also added to his Tres-Or position by buying two million shares more at five cents per share, a $100,000 investment, leaving him with 4.27 million Tres-Or, or about one-sixth of the company.
