The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a so-so 71-78-161 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose six points to 718. Adam Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) rose one-half cent to 23.5 cents on 21,000 shares today. The company set another new low at 22.5 cents in mid-June as its silence continues. Lucara, which last had something material to say in early May, is beavering away at getting the underground expansion of its Karowe mine in Botswana ready before stockpiled ore runs out in early 2028.
Chris Doornbos's E3 Lithium Ltd. (ETL) rose two cents to 82 cents on 170,000 shares on word it has updated its resource estimate for the Garrington lithium project, just southwest of Edmonton in central Alberta. The company now lists 17.6 billion cubic metres of brine grading an average of 54 milligrams of lithium per litre, with an additional 1.5 billion cubic metres inferred at 42 milligrams per litre -- good for about 5.3 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.
