The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a pleasant 112-75-123 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 16 points to 964. Nikolaos Cacos's Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp. (LIT) added one-half cent to 12.5 cents on 50,000 shares. The company has a maiden resource estimate for its Rincon West lithium deposit in northern Argentina.

The calculation is based on a 4.33-cubic-kilometre aquifer with a limited yield, resulting in a recoverable brine volume of about 0.15 cubic kilometre grading 11.1 grams of lithium and 214.8 grams of potassium per litre. Another 0.08 cubic kilometre of brine is inferred at significantly lower grades, resulting in a total resource of 304,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent and nearly two million tonnes of potassium chloride.

Mr. Cacos, chief executive officer, cheered that the initial calculation "marks a pivotal step in unlocking the full potential of Rincon West," one that "reinforces Argentina Lithium's position at the center of one of the most strategic lithium districts in the world." He points eastward to where Rio Tinto PLC is working its Rincon project, adding that with a "strong offtake partnership with Stellantis, [he and his company] are uniquely positioned to advance Rincon West rapidly and responsibly ... toward the next phase of development."
