The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was an upbeat 100-76-134 as the TSX Venture Exchange added three points to 997. Lithium Americas Corp. (LAC), a Nevada lithium developer, dropped eight cents to $7.63 on 2.94 million shares. Alphamin Resources Corp. (AFM), a tin miner in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was also a busy trader, as it added one cent to $1.45 on 2.92 million shares.

John Paterson's EV Nickel Inc. (EVNI) was unchanged at 18 cents on 97,000 shares. The company has new assays from its Langmuir project, near Timmins in Northern Ontario. The headline intercept, in the Langmuir No. 2 area, returned 1.06 per cent nickel, 0.057 per cent copper and 0.026 per cent cobalt, along with hints of platinum group elements and gold, across a 34.6-metre interval at depth.

Assays from three other holes, all at Langmuir South, produced mineralization. One of the hits made the highlight reel, with a 9.8-metre interval grading 1.2 per cent nickel, 0.056 per cent copper and 0.022 per cent cobalt, again accompanied by modest amounts of platinum, palladium and gold. The two other holes had similar grades, but over narrower intervals.
