The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was a weak 69-108-133 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell eight points to 867. Lithium Ionic Corp. (LTH) slid 12 cents to 50 cents on 2.58 million shares today, while Emerita Resources Corp. (EMO) added one-half cent to 33 cents on 276,000 shares.

That clacking sound you hear is not rock hammers hitting home on outcrops at Bandeira, the promising Lithium Ionic project in Brazil, it is the sound of briefcases clicking open as a gaggle of lawyers get set to do battle in an Ontario court. Lithium Ionic has been served a statement of claim by Emerita, which is suing "certain former directors and officers, Lithium Ionic Corp. and other parties."

Emerita says the suit is "part of the company's continuing efforts to protect and advance the interests of the company and its shareholders," adding that it "intends to address the action through the legal process and does not intend to comment further publicly at this time" -- much like a schoolboy bellowing "I know a secret" to his buddies, and then dashing off, lest he spill the beans.
