Both companies cheered their recent performance earlier this week. Meanwhile, SSR Mining Inc. (SSRM), which will applaud its 2022 performance next week, struggled a bit today, dropping eight cents to $22.38 on 966,000 shares.
John McConnell's Yukon gold miner, Victoria Gold Inc. (VGCX) rose 52 cents to $9.45 on 1.83 million shares thanks to some exploration news. The company has drilled an 83.5-metre interval averaging 3.59 grams of gold per tonne at Raven, on its Dublin Gulch project in Yukon. The hit included a 14.5-metre zone averaging 20.24 grams per tonne, which left the remaining 69 metres with unpromotable amounts of gold. A second hole yielded mineralization over 105.5 metres but without a similar high-grade subsection, it averaged just 0.65 gram per tonne.
