New York spot gold fell $2.60 to $1,939.40 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 1.53 points to 586.6 while the TSX gold index lost 3.11 points to 274.68. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower today, although none with the gusto of Ero Copper Corp. (ERO). It fell $1.19 to $27.95 on 838,000 shares despite a two-week silence. Another quiet miner, Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV) fell 43 cents to $27.95 on 684,000 shares. Sandstorm Gold Ltd. (SSL) led the advance, gaining four cents to $7.46 on 1.68 million shares.
Rodrigo Barbosa's Aura Minerals Inc. (ORA) lost 15 cents to $8.73 on 15,000 shares on receipt of a feasibility study for its Borborema project in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The study is based on a reserve of 22.5 million tonnes grading 1.12 grams of gold per tonne, about 812,000 ounces. This is a small subset of the nearly 2.5 million ounces listed as a resource, rock that contributes to what Aura deems "additional production upside."
