New York spot gold lost another $9.50 to $1,865.50 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 6.89 points to 556.90 while the TSX gold index fell 0.25 point to 252.26. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower with bullion, but not that much. Indeed, some gained ground, like Franco-Nevada Corp. (FNV), which added $2.46 to $180.51 on 469,000 shares. Among those moving downward today was Novagold Resources Inc. (NG). It fell eight cents to $5.34 on 442,000 shares.

Dr. Ewan Webster's Thesis Gold Inc. (TAU) rose two cents to 67 cents on 27,000 shares on word it has drilled a 6.27-metre interval averaging 14.87 grams of gold per tonne in the BV zone at its Ranch project in the Toodoggone district of northwestern British Columbia. Much of the gold in the hole, one of three revealed today, sat within a 2.31-metre subsection grading 32.51 grams per tonne. That left the remaining nearly four metres of rock with about 4.6 grams of gold per tonne.
