New York spot gold continued its slide, dropping $5.30 to $1,822.40 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 9.19 points to 536.26 while the TSX gold index added 1.81 points to 247.46. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower with bullion yet again, but some bucked the trend.Iamgold Corp. (IMG) jumped 18 cents to $2.94 on 1.41 million shares and Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) added 37 cents to $11.87 on 446,000 shares. Not so strong was Artemis Gold inc. (ARTG), which fell 15 cents to $5.50 on 167,000 shares.
Paul Matysek and Collin Kettell's Nevada King Gold Corp. (NKG) rose one cent to 43 cents on 1.71 million shares. The move follows Monday's 11.5-cent leap to 42 cents on 1.28 million shares, a surge driven by midday news of a long, rich drill hit at the Atlanta project in southeastern Nevada. The 108.2-metre interval returned 11.64 grams of gold and 17.4 grams of silver per tonne, aided by a 29-metre subinterval grading 37.16 grams of gold and 34.4 grams of silver per tonne.
