New York spot gold rose $2.40 to $1,974.70 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange reclaimed 3.97 points to 522.90, while the TSX gold index added 0.12 point to 279.01. Most Canadian gold miners stayed close to home today. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) dipped 40 cents to $17.57 on 365,000 shares and SSR Mining Inc. (SSRM) added 15 cents to $19.76 on 521,000 shares. More active was Kinross Gold Corp. (K), which added seven cents to $7.42 on 5.49 million shares.
