New York spot gold rose $8.50 to $2,035.70 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 7.29 points to 534.26 while the TSX gold index added 4.41 points to 287.33. Most Canadian-listed gold miners moved higher today, although SSR Mining Inc. (SSRM), which fell 44 cents to $14.18 on 2.95 million shares, was an exception. Leading the advance was Ero Copper Corp. (ERO), which jumped $1.97 to $21.90 on 918,000 shares.
