New York spot gold fell $19.50 Tuesday, closing at $2,622.60. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 4.64 points to 587.61 while the TSX gold index dropped 0.22 point to 363.89. Most Canadian listed gold miners continued their retreat today, especially those with a copper connection. Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (IVN) dropped 80 cents to $19.13 on 5.57 million shares while Hudbay Minerals Inc. (HBM) fell 62 cents to $12.26 on 6.53 million shares.

Jim Askew and Matthew Wilcox's Robex Resources Inc. (RBX) was one of a few northbound today, as it added 10 cents to $2.75 on 22,000 shares. In June, Robex sold 58.3 million shares at $2.19 and today, Mr. Wilcox, managing director, jargonized that he and his crew have been using the $126.5-million at its Kiniero project in Guinea to "advance the schedule to leverage Kiniero's potential to be one of the largest and lowest-cost gold producing mines in Guinea."
