New York spot gold gained $46.40 to $3,430.50 on Friday -- thank you Israel and Iran -- as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 0.66 point to 721.13 and the TSX gold index gained 9.93 points to 512.48. Most gold miners listed in Canada had another good day. Orezone Gold Corp. (ORE) rose seven cents to $1.41 on 14.48 million shares, while Majestic Gold Corp. (MJS) continues to do well, as it added one-half cent to 18 cents on 4.67 million shares.

And then there were Calibre Mining Corp. (CXB) and Equinox Gold Corp. (EQX), which continue to feel the fallout from yesterday's news that Equinox was paring its 2025 production guidance by up to 125,000 ounces -- perhaps $340-million (U.S.) in revenue. Calibre, which is merging with Equinox, fell nine more cents to $3.04 on 15.58 million shares today, while Equinox lost 20 cents to $8.73 on 4.69 million shares.

Late Wednesday, Jon Cherry's Perpetua Resources Corp. (PPTA) said it had arranged a $300-million (U.S.) bought-deal financing and a concurrent $100-million (U.S.) private placement, both to be completed at $13.20 (U.S.) per share or about $18 in Canadian currency. The news of that great deal for new shareholders had retail buyers making their own discount in the market, as Perpetua slumped $4.66 to $17.85 on 822,000 shares Thursday.

That is a terrible thing to say "thank you Israel and Iran"...make light of people dying...gold rises...you celebrate...very coldhearted, churlish.
