New York spot gold rebounded Thursday, adding $15.20 to reach $4,112.70 by late afternoon. The TSX Venture Exchange moved higher, adding 16.54 points to 964.23 today, while the TSX gold index added 9.48 points to 713.64. Galiano Gold Inc. (GAU) had a good day, adding 13 cents to $3.84 on 1.9 million shares, and Taseko Mines Ltd. (TKO) gained 24 cents to $5.69 on 3.65 million shares. New Found Gold Corp. (NFG), on the other hand, lost 16 cents to $2.76 on 2.07 million shares.
Kimberly Ann's Lahontan Gold Corp. (LG) was unchanged at 16.5 cents on 2.63 million shares on word it has completed its purchase of the York claims, about 210 hectares of ground adjoining its Santa Fe mine project in the Walker Lane district of Nevada. To do so, Lahontan paid $10,000 (U.S.) in cash, issued a $50,000 (U.S.) promissory note and two million shares to the vendor, Emergent Metals Corp. (EMR). Emergent, which was unchanged at 4.5 cents on 28,000 shares today, is a busy seller: The company is also selling Its Golden Arrow property in Nevada to Fairchild Gold Corp. (FAIR: $0.075).
