New York spot gold moved higher Monday, adding $6.20 to reach $4,007.30 by the afternoon pause. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 24.71 points to end the day at 933.17, while the TSX gold index added 1.31 points to 691.48. Some gold and silver miners listed in Canada stayed gained altitude today. Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA) added 55 cents to $15.47 on 2.48 million shares while Serabi Gold PLC (SBI) rose 17 cents to $4.65 on 63,000 shares. First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (FM), on the other hand, lost 64 cents to $28.48 on 4.71 million shares.
