New York spot gold added another -- oh, good grief! -- $177.50 pausing for rarified air at an Alpine high of $5,186.80. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 2.55 points to 1,142.87 and the TSX gold index added 5.35 points to 1,027.92. Novagold Resources Inc. (NG) was strong in silence, adding $1.64 to $15.96 on 1.69 million shares, while Soma Gold Corp. (SOMA) added 10 cents to $2.30 on 460,000 shares. Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) dropped 38 cents to $18.74 on 3.89 million shares and Galiano Gold Inc. (GAU) fell six cents to $4.20 on 1.67 million shares.

Kimberly Ann's Lahontan Gold Corp. (LG) jumped 3.5 cents to 25 cents on 3.96 million shares on new assays from its Santa Fe project, in the Walker Lane district of Nevada. The headline hole returned a 68.6-metre near-surface interval grading 0.43 gram of gold and 1.7 grams of silver per tonne from the South Slab area, aided by a 16.8-metre subinterval in its midsection that ran 0.78 gram of gold and 2.8 grams of silver per tonne. A second hole mustered a 41.2-metre near-surface zone grading 0.3 gram of gold and two grams of silver per tonne, also at South Slab.
