New York spot gold added $60.80 Monday, catching its afternoon breath at $4,569.30. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 21.34 points to 994.81 while the TSX gold index gained 24.27 points to 864.53. Most precious metals miners that moved were lighter than air today. Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. (WPM) jumped $9.73 to $184.47 on 566,000 shares, while Silver X Mining Corp. (AGX) added six cents to 78 cents on 1.07 million shares.

And then there was Pierre Lepine and Jean Martineau's Dynacor Group Inc. (DNG). It lost nine cents to $5.98 on 125,000 shares today after a disgruntled shareholder, Switzerland-based iolite Partners Ltd., called for its fellow shareholders to vote against the company's board at the annual meeting next month. In doing so, iolite says that Dynacor needs appropriate and proper oversight, adding that this "has not been the case and things need to change in the best interest of the company and the business in which shareholders have invested."
