The Law Society of British Columbia has imposed a four-month suspension on Vancouver lawyer Neal Wang, cited for professional misconduct with respect to his handling of money through his trust account. The Law Society claimed that he allowed a client to move $2.9-million through the account while being aware of an investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Wang took insufficient steps to ensure he was not assisting in dishonesty, crime or fraud, the Law Society said.

The suspension for Mr. Wang is contained in a disciplinary decision that the Law Society released on Sept. 23, 2025. In handing down the suspension, a three-member panel deemed Mr. Wang's conduct to be "serious and wide-ranging." It involved multiple clients and "reflected a sustained departure from the standards expected of a practicing lawyer."

Mr. Wang had asked that the Law Society limit his suspension to two months, saying that a lengthier term would severely affect his professional and personal life. Enforcement staff, meanwhile, had asked that the suspension be six months in length. Among other things, they said that Mr. Wang had lied to the hearing panel and falsified documents, which were "clear aggravating factors when considering the public's confidence."

2 tier legal system is alive and well in BC and Canada all in the name of public interest. Make Canada the 51st state and get rid of all this duplicate bureaucracy that is designed to protect the interests of a select few Canadians.

If any regular law abiding Canadian citzen "lied or falsified documents" they would be charged and prosecuted under the criminal code with a jail term. 2 tier legal system. Swamp is alive and thriving in Canada.
