Odlum Brown Ltd. is facing a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia from Jeffrey Davis, a former vice-president who claims he was unfairly fired in 2024. Mr. Davis says that Odlum Brown dismissed him from his job, which paid $3.5-million per year, after a "categorically false" accusation. He does not specify what the accusation was, other than to say that it involved serious misconduct.
The allegations are contained in a notice of claim that Mr. Davis, 50, filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Jan. 23, 2026. Mr. Davis identifies himself as a 24-year employee of Odlum Brown, beginning with the firm as an investment adviser in June, 2000. While Mr. Davis looks to have lived in Vancouver, he lists his current address as being in Montreal.
The lawsuit is relatively brief, explaining that Mr. Davis performed his duties diligently and faithfully during his employment, proving to be a "valuable and reliable employee of the Defendant." Odlum Brown promoted him to portfolio manager in 2006 and, by the time he was fired, he was supervising others, the suit states. Mr. Davis says that he reported to the firm's president, Debi Doucette.
