The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a mediocre 98-93-119 as the TSX Venture Exchange added two points to 939. Kirill Klip's TNR Gold Corp. (TNR) rose one-half cent to 14 cents on 697,000 shares today, putting it nine cents higher than a year ago and 13 cents above its one-cent low set a decade ago. Back then, TNR was looking to carry on as a junior partner on exploration and development projects run by well-heeled seniors -- a course that rarely ends well for the runt of the venture.

That was then. Today, Mr. Klip, the company's executive chairman, enthuses that TNR Gold "is your gateway to the green energy revolution and gold stability," applauding his company's project exit strategy that has left it with a 1.5-per-cent net smelter returns royalty on the Mariana lithium project in Argentina, being developed by Ganfeng Lithium, and a 0.4-per-cent royalty on the Los Azules copper project, also in Argentina. (Slivers -- one-10th -- of those royalties are held on behalf of a shareholder who had provided a $3.5-million loan 13 years ago.)
