The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a so-so 89-73-148 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 19 points to 1,107. Giga Metals Corp. (GIGA) had a good day, adding 1.5 cents to 14 cents on 1.42 million shares. There has not been news since a week ago, when Giga set out its plans for a spring exploration program at Turnagain, a big nickel project in northwestern British Columbia.

Greg Reimer's Surge Battery Metals Inc. (NILI) rose two cents to 72 cents on 3.08 million shares. The company has intersected a 116-metre interval grading 3,752 parts per million lithium, 290 ppm rubidium and 122 ppm cesium during infill drilling at its Nevada North lithium project in northeastern Nevada. The hit came from one of five new holes drilled on the project. The four other tests did well -- they are infill tests, remember -- with one managing 3,664 ppm lithium, 287 ppm rubidium and 98 ppm cesium across an 82.3-metre interval.
