The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was a weak 57-111-142 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 25 points to 911. Dr. Michael Gunning's VR Resources Ltd. (VRR) jumped five cents to 32 cents on 28,000 shares on word it now has a drill permit for its New Boston molybdenum, tungsten, copper and silver porphyry project in Nevada.
The permit covers eight potential drill sites in the area of the old Jeep mine, in the western part of an area of sheeted and stockwork veins exposed on surface in the western part of the polymetallic porphyry system. Those veins span an apparent strike length of between three and four kilometres, the company geologizes, adding that planning is now under way for about 1,500 metres of drilling to test new geophysical anomalies near the Jeep mine.
Dr. Gunning, chief executive officer, first bent his knee to the Nevada bureaucrats, expressing appreciation for the short 15-day turnaround time for the permit. He and his crew are now "excited to have the ball rolling again at New Boston," adding that they will be on site this week for planning as the permitting process rolls out. "Our goal is simple," Dr. Gunning gushed, "to complete the first-pass drilling across the large-footprint, moly-tungsten-copper-silver porphyry and skarn system that we started in 2024."
