The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a bleak 57-107-146 as the TSX Venture Exchange slid 24 points to 995. Reagan Glazier's Neotech Metals Corp. (NTMC), down 2.5 cents to 33.5 cents on 187,000 shares, has assays from another four holes drilled in its 10,000-metre drill program at the Hecla-Kilmer rare earth project, between Kapuskasing and Moosonee in Northern Ontario.
The headline hit produced an eye-popping 775-metre mineralized zone starting near surface, which yielded an average of 0.38 per cent total rare earth oxides, 3.0 per cent potash and 0.1 per cent niobium oxide. A 408.4-metre subinterval near the bottom of the hole returned 0.53 per cent TREO, 4.1 per cent potash and 0.13 per cent niobium oxide. A second hole managed nearly 300 metres with lesser grades, but with a richer zone spanning 30 metres near the top. A week ago, Neotech applauded its first five holes, one of which graded 0.67 per cent TREO over 215 metres, along with promotable amounts of niobium oxide, gallium oxide and tantalum oxide.
