The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a positive 88-82-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange added 11 points to 890. Greg Reimer's Surge Battery Metals Inc. (NILI) added two cents to 75 cents on 3.5 million shares Monday after it rolled out its "positive prefeasibility study" for the Nevada North lithium project in northeastern Nevada.

The study is based on a reserve of 218.3 million tonnes grading 3,928 parts per million lithium, about 4.56 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent. Mind you, that is just a fraction of the full resource, which lists 687 million tonnes measured and indicated at 3,007 ppm and another 271 million tonnes inferred at 2,160 ppm, a total of 13.6 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.

Like the preliminary economic assessment completed last year, the prefeasibility study contemplates a 42-year, $2.77-billion (U.S.) mine that will start with a design production capacity of 55,900 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year. It will then double to a peak production rate of 111,400 tonnes per year, following a $2.35-billion (U.S.) expansion during the fourth year of operations.
