New York spot gold reclaimed more lost ground Wednesday, adding $72.60 to take its afternoon breather at $4,198.50. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 13.1 points to close at 918.92 while the TSX gold index surged 25.92 points to 766.55. And so, Canada's gold miners were tripping over themselves to post the largest gains today. Well, other than Dynacor Group Inc. (DNG), which fell six cents to $4.72 on 102,000 shares in silence. Altius Minerals Corp. (ALS) jumped $3.41 to $42.48 on 835,000 shares today and Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) added 51 cents to $11.44 on 2.96 million shares.
Bradley Langille's GoGold Resources Inc. (GGD) had a tough day, falling 19 cents to $2.62 on 13.71 million shares, but it had news. The company has arranged to sell 47.17 million shares at $2.65 through a bought-deal financing that is designed to raise $125-million to advance the company's Los Ricos North and Los Ricos South projects in Jalisco, Mexico. Naturally, retail investors sought to get the same deal that the underwriters received.
