New York spot gold added $19.30 to $4,226.50 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 5.59 points to 945.87 while the TSX gold index rose 6.52 points to 789.75. Most Canadian gold miners gained ground today. Oh, Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) did fall $3.82 to $226.44 on 3.76 million shares in silence, while equally mum Oceanagold Corp. (OGC) dropped five cents to $37.16 on 1.06 million shares, but Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. (WPM) added $4.41 to $155.71 on 1.43 million shares.

Paul Andre Huet's Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (USA) leapt 50 cents to $6.88 on 8.37 million shares yesterday, getting as high as $6.95. Much of Tuesday's volume was the result of Eric Sprott, a Toronto-based mining financier, selling five million of his 50.05 million shares, getting just over $6.79 per share. Today, the market was less enthused at the open, as the stock dipped to $6.67, but it ended the day up 26 cents to $7.14 on 3.38 million shares.
