New York spot gold added $46.70 Tuesday, stopping for afternoon air at $4,489.10. Bullion had bubbled to within a few shekels of the $4,500 mark at one point early this morning. The TSX Venture Exchange added 5.14 points to 990.68 while the TSX gold index fell 0.23 point to 860.40. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower today. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) lost 46 cents to $120 on 651,000 shares and Fortuna Mining Corp. (FVI) dipped three cents to $13.95 on 2.3 million shares. Gainers were few, but Serabi Gold PLC (SBI) did add 18 cents to $5.67 on 66,000 shares.

Dynacor Group Inc. (DNG) also advanced, adding 11 cents to $5.75 on 238,000 shares, but it had news -- expected news, mind you -- as the company declared a one-and-one-third-cent monthly dividend. That is unchanged from the recent monthly dividends. Since the summer of 2018, Dynacor has paid a total of 68 cents in dividends. The company operates a plant in Peru and buys ore from local artisanal miners. Through the first nine months of 2025, the company sold $260-million (U.S.) of gold and logged $14-million (U.S.) in net income.
