New York spot gold dropped $200.20 Thursday, taking a break at $4,763.60. The TSX Venture Exchange slumped 68.83 points to 969.65, a 207-point retreat from the 1,177 it reached late last month. The TSX gold index retreated 61 points southward to 881.3, 186 points below its high of 1,067 set a week ago. Looking for a Canadian gold producer with an up day? Well, cross your fingers and come back tomorrow.
As for the rest, oh, where to start. (Most anywhere is the logical response.) Silver X Mining Corp. (AGX) fell 20 cents to $1.01 on 3.95 million shares, while Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) slumped $8.32 to $59.36 on 1.65 million shares. They slogged southward in retreat in silence, as did most of their brothers in promotional arms: Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) slid $1.94 to $14.31 on five million shares and Ero Copper Corp. (ERO) dropped $5.01 to $43.18 on 1.73 million shares.
