Peter Smith, the 87-year-old geologist fighting efforts by Fancamp Exploration Ltd. to take control of the Magpie deposit in Quebec, has responded to a court case that Fancamp filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia over the matter. Unfortunately for those seeking details, Mr. Smith has little to say about the substance of the case. His response complains in lawyerly fashion about the fact that the case was filed in B.C. and not in Quebec.

Mr. Smith is responding to a petition that Fancamp filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Nov. 6, 2025, in which the company sought ownership of Magpie Mines Inc., a private entity that holds the Magpie deposit (touted by Fancamp as "one of the world's largest undeveloped hard rock iron-titanium historic deposits"). The company said that it was Magpie's largest shareholder, with 96 per cent of its common shares and 66.6 per cent of a class of special shares. The problem, according to Fancamp, is that Mr. Smith holds Magpie's bank account and other assets, owing to his former role as Fancamp's president, and has refused to hand them over.

it will expire and none of them be able to stake it, so someone else will end up owning it.

Thankfully this is certain to be resolved for Fancamp soon.

In Quebec, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MRNF) generally accepts payment for claim renewals from anyone willing to pay, as long as they reference the correct Claim Numbers. No chance they expire.

some commie shitlibs got control in Quebec now and changed the mining regulations, this will expire, as several other historic occurrences have come open during 2025 as the government did not accept squatters b s reports. Quebec gave 3 years gratis to all titles staked before 2020 not expired and during 2020. Some squatters had titles for 6 years will jerking off online insted of promoting mining with deals on grounds. These b s artists gonna lose their ground also.
