Jordan Meadow, a former broker from New Jersey charged for an insider trading scheme involving Toronto Stock Exchange listings Score Media and Gaming Inc. and Domtar Corp., is set to plead guilty to criminal charges he faces in New York. Prosecutors claim that he learned about takeovers and other deals through unauthorized access to a work laptop belonging to an associate's girlfriend. The girlfriend was an executive assistant at an investment bank.
Word of Mr. Meadow's plea is contained in a scheduling order filed in federal court on Monday, Nov. 10. The judge has set a date of Nov. 12 for Mr. Meadow to change his plea from not guilty. The charges against him are securities fraud and conspiracy to commit securities fraud.
The guilty plea from Mr. Meadow, 36, will be the second that prosecutors have secured in the case. The other was against his co-accused, Steven Teixeira, 34, from New York. Mr. Teixeira awaits sentencing. Both men also face a related action from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which filed a civil complaint on June 29, 2023.
