The Financial Post reports in its Friday edition that BlackBerry expects revenue in its second quarter to total about $132-million stemming from delays in closing certain large deals and lowered its full-year revenue outlook for its Internet-of-things (IOT) business. A Canadian Press dispatch to the Post says that for its second quarter, which ended Aug. 31, BlackBerry says it expects IOT revenue of about $49-million, while cybersecurity revenue is expected to be about $80-million. Licensing and other revenue is expected total about $3-million for the quarter. For its full year, BlackBerry says revenue for its IOT business unit is now expected to be in a range of $225-million to $240-million. In May, the company forecast IOT revenue of $240-million to $250-million for its full year. BlackBerry is expected to report its full results for its second quarter on Sept. 28. Its shares closed in New York at $4.68, down 86.5 cents.
