The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, July 11, edition that JPMorgan analysts led by Sebastiano Petti trimmed their 18-month share target for BCE by a loonie to $46, while maintaining a "neutral" recommendation. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that the JPMorgan analysts say in a note: "Overall, we raise Q2 consolidated EBITDA 0.5 per cent to $2.68-billion on higher CTS margins (cost savings efforts) despite lower wireless service (ARPU) and equipment revenue (higher BYOD, lower upgrades). While we like BCE's focus on premium loadings, competitive intensity remains elevated in the Canadian wireless ecosystem. At the same time, while BCE's fibre bundling strategy should drive improved market share and CLVs long term, bundle discounts are pressuring service revenue near-term. For the full-year, we now estimate a 0.2 per cent consolidated revenue decline (guidance of +0-4 per cent), 2 per cent EBITDA growth (guidance of +1.5 to 4.5 per cent), FCF decline of 8 per cent (guidance of 3- to 11-per-cent decline), and capex of $4.04-billion." The Globe reported on June 27 that National Bank analyst Adam Shine was sticking with his "outperform" recommendation for BCE, which was then worth $44.61.
