The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, April 2, edition that TD Cowen analyst Vince Valentini has reaffirmed his "hold" recommendation for BCE. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Valentini continues to target the shares at $33. Analysts on average target the shares at $35.27. Mr. Valentini says in a note: "We continue to believe that dividend, asset sale and funding partner issues will have a lot more bearing on BCE shares in the near-term, versus slight tweaks in operating results/estimates. We continue to expect (but to be clear we have no way to be certain) that BCE will eliminate its discount DRIP program and lower its dividend by 50 per cent (to $2 annualized) concurrent with Q1/25 results on May 8." The Globe reported on Dec. 4 and Jan. 31 that Mr. Valentini had reaffirmed his "hold" recommendation for BCE. The shares could then be had for $37.79 and $34.61. The Globe reported on Jan. 23 that Barclays analyst Lauren Bonham had lowered her recommendation for BCE to "underweight" from "equal weight." The shares could then be had for $33.38.
