Benton acquires 61 claims units at Dominion Lake

2025-08-14 17:42 ET - News Release

Mr. Stephen Stares reports

BENTON STAKES STRATEGIC LAND AT ITS DOMINION LAKE PROJECT WITH BASE METAL RESULTS IN HISTORICAL DRILLING

Benton Resources Inc. has acquired, via staking, three licences totalling 61 claim units. One licence totalling nine units encompasses three widely spaced historical drill holes, which intercepted highly anomalous and significant copper and zinc values, located approximately 1,500 metres (m) southwest of the Daniel's Pond VMS (volcanic massive sulphide) deposit and just 600 metres west-southwest from Benton's newly discovered Rickirb gold zone. Historical drill hole HRP-08-01 intercepted 1.5 m grading 1.02 per cent Cu (copper), 1.83 per cent Zn (zinc) and 10.5 grams per tonne (g/t) Ag (silver) starting at a shallow depth of 48.3 m, and is wide open for further drilling (Royal Roads Corp. 2008 assessment report, Newfoundland Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Geofile No. 12A/1491). The second licence, totalling 24 units, and the third licence, totalling 28 units, possess excellent geology, with little historical work completed, with the third licence being located less than 600 m northwest of the Bobby's Pond VMS deposit.

On Nov. 28, 2024, June 5, 2025, and July 8, 2025, the company reported the discovery of multiple new areas containing gold along with multiple occurrences of massive sulphide in local float and bedrock:

  • The new zone -- 10.8 g/t Au (gold);
  • Rickirb gold zone -- grab samples up to 6.41 g/t Au;
  • The Trinity base metal zone (see the company's news release dated June 5, 2025) -- surface samples returning assays up to 14.6 per cent Zn, 1.31 per cent Pb (lead), 2.53 per cent Cu, 68.7 g/t Ag and 0.17 g/t Au.

The company is currently awaiting further gold and base metal results from its continuing mapping and prospecting campaigns. In addition, permits have been received to conduct trenching work to expose any new zones and areas of interest for mapping and channel sampling in preparation for drilling later in the season.

The company acquired the Dominion Lake project in 2024 after a large parcel of land became available for staking, and has since assembled a substantial and highly prospective land position.

QA/QC protocols

Core and rock samples, including standards, blanks and duplicates, are submitted to Eastern Analytical Ltd., Springdale, Nfld., for preparation and analysis. All samples were acquired by sawcut (channels/drill core), with one-half submitted for assay and one-half retained for reference, or hand (rocks) and delivered, by Benton personnel, in sealed bags, to the Springdale lab of Eastern Analytical, which is an accredited assay lab that conforms to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. Samples are analyzed using Eastern's Au (fire assay) at 30 grams (g) plus ICP-34 method that delivers a 34-element package utilizing a 200-milligram (mg) subsample totally dissolved in four acids, and analyzed by ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy) analytical technique. Overlimits are analyzed with Eastern's atomic absorption method, using a 0.200 g to 2.00 g of sample, digested with three acids. All reported assays are uncut. Eastern Analytical achieved ISO 17025 accreditation in February, 2014. Grab samples are selective in nature and may not represent the average mineralization of a bedrock exposure.

About Benton Resources Inc.

Benton Resources is a well-financed mineral exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol BEX. Benton has a diversified, highly prospective property portfolio and holds large equity positions in other mining companies that are advancing high-quality assets. Whenever possible, Benton retains net smelter return (NSR) royalties with potential long-term cash flow.

Benton is focused on advancing its high-grade copper-gold Great Burnt project in central Newfoundland, which has a mineral resource estimate of 667,000 tonnes at 3.21 per cent Cu indicated and 482,000 at 2.35 per cent Cu inferred. The project has an excellent geological setting covering 25 kilometres (km) of strike and boasts six known Cu-Au-Ag zones over 15 km that are all open for expansion. Further potential for discovery is excellent given the extensive number of untested geophysical targets and Cu-Au soil anomalies. Phase 1 and phase 2 drill programs returned impressive results, including 25.42 m of 5.51 per cent Cu, including 9.78 m of 8.31 per cent Cu, and 1.00 m of 12.70 per cent Cu. Drilling at the South Pond gold zone, approximately 7.5 km north of the Great Burnt copper-gold zone, has confirmed a robust gold-mineralized system over 2.5 km, with results of 74.20 m of 1.43 g/t Au and 43.75 m of 1.62 g/t Au, and is open for expansion in all directions.

We seek Safe Harbor.
