The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that National Bank analyst Maxim Sytchev has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Colliers International Group. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Sytchev advanced his share target by $5 (U.S.) to $125 (U.S.). Mr. Sytchev says he sees "more risks on the horizon" for industrial products companies heading into 2024 as the "consensus has shifted its view from a recession at the start of 2023 to a greater acceptance of a soft landing. We see political risks shifting to the right of the spectrum, potentially impacting sentiment of infra-friendly names. We are staying sharp and nimble, although it's hard to advocate for material trimming at the moment." Mr. Sytchev says: "[CIGI is] controversial as many investors feel lower rates can only happen due to a recession; yes, but the transactional business has already been decimated by higher rates. We view the thesis as an excellent way to play on yield curve normalization with compounding to boot." The Globe reported on May 4 and Nov. 3 that Mr. Sytchev had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Colliers when it could be had for $90.16 (U.S.) and $95.87 (U.S.).
