The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, March 27, edition that Scotia Capital analyst Kevin Krishnaratne has reaffirmed his "sector outperform" recommendation for Descartes Systems Group. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Krishnaratne gave his share target a $2 boost to $127 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $121.94. Mr. Krishnaratne tweaked his share target ahead following Descartes's announcement on Tuesday of the $115-million acquisition of 3GTMS on the heels of an "eventful" M&A year in fiscal 2025 that included five deals. The Globe says Mr. Krishnaratne sees more opportunities to come. Mr. Krishnaratne says in a note: "Recall that on Descartes's most recent earnings call, management indicated that changing market conditions can often provide it with opportunities to add solutions for its customers, including via acquisition. Within our coverage, Descartes is also one of the best positioned for M&A, with an estimated $195-million cash balance (post-3G) and no debt (has undrawn $350-million line of credit), with an attractive 'Rule-of-50' operating profile." The analyst expects 3G to expand Descartes's North American carrier reach.
