Mr. Louis Ribieras of Hamilton Capital reports
HAMILTON ETFS CONFIRMS 2024 ANNUAL NON-CASH DISTRIBUTIONS
Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. has confirmed the annual non-cash distributions for its suite of exchange-traded funds, all of which trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange, for the year ended Dec. 31, 2024. Please note this is an update to the estimated non-cash distributions previously announced on Dec. 20, 2024.
ETFs are required to distribute any net income and capital gains earned in the year. The non-cash distributions, shown in the table below, will not be paid in cash, but will be automatically reinvested in additional units of the respective ETFs, and immediately consolidated so that the number of units held by the unitholder and the net asset value of the ETFs will not change. The non-cash distributions will be reported as taxable distributions and will be used to increase each unitholder's adjusted cost base for the respective ETF.
The record date and ex dividend date for the non-cash distributions is Dec. 31, 2024. In early 2025, the tax characteristics of all 2024 distributions for the ETFs will be reported to brokers through CDS.
