Attorney-General Pam Bondi said Jay Clayton, the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, will lead the investigation. Many Trump voters believe that Ms. Bondi and other Trump officials have covered up Mr. Epstein's connections to powerful figures and details surrounding his 2019 suicide in jail. JPMorgan said in a statement that the U.S. bank regrets its past association with Mr. Epstein, who was a client between 1998 and 2013, and did not help him commit "heinous acts."
