The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, May 2, edition that Lightspeed Commerce has seen its share price drop by 35 per cent in the past 12 months and it is down 88 per cent from its high close of $158.93 on Sept. 22, 2021. The Globe's guest columnist Brian Donovan writes in the Number Cruncher column that three of our four models price the stock at much higher than its current level. Mr. Donovan says his discounted-cash-flow model sits well below other analyst models, but is positive, which is encouraging as the company is still expected to report a loss for the quarter. Lightspeed shares are down 38 per cent this year. Lightspeed will report fourth quarter and full-year financial results before the markets open on May 18. Analysts on average target the shares at $45.43. Mr. Donovan's proprietary calculations peg the shares at $30.81. The Globe reported on Jan. 13 that Stifel analyst Suthan Sukumar rated Lightspeed "hold," when it was worth $15.87. The Globe reported on Jan. 23 that National Bank Financial analysts Richard Tse and John Shao rated Lightspeed Commerce "outperform." It was then worth $23.51.
