The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 2, edition that following Methanex's fourth quarter earnings beat, Raymond James analyst Steve Hansen boosted his share target to $67 from $60 (all figures U.S.). The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Hansen has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Methanex. Analysts on average target the shares at $54.18. Mr. Hansen says in a note, "We are increasing our target price on Methanex and reiterating our 'outperform' rating based upon: 1) our increasingly constructive view of global methanol fundamentals; 2) confirmation of G3's imminent ramp-up to full rates (removing a sizeable risk factor); and 3) commensurate prospects for robust FCF generation and buybacks through our forecast horizon." The Globe reported on Sept. 20 that Mr. Hansen had boosted Methanex to "outperform" from "market perform." The shares could then be had for $40.87. The Globe reported on Oct. 31 that Scotia Capital analyst Ben Isaacson had upgraded his recommendation for Methanex to "sector outperform" from "sector perform." The shares could then be had for $41.25.
