The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Nov. 18, edition that Scotia Capital analyst Mike Rizvanovic is sticking with his "sector outperform" ranking for Sagicor Financial. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Rizvanovic boosted his share target by a loonie to $12. Analysts on average target the shares at $11. Mr. Rizvanovic says in a note: "Sagicor Financial reported another solid quarter with most operating segments coming in ahead of our forecasts. Notable positives included strong new business production in the U.S., a big 8 per cent sequential jump in BVPS driven by favorable market variables, an elevated LICAT ratio, and favorable guidance that losses related to the tragic events unfolding in Jamaica and the Caribbean related to Hurricane Melissa will be manageable in Q4. We continue to see sizable upside for the shares over the medium-term with the market still not fully valuing the company's potential earnings growth and ROE trajectory." The Globe reported on Aug. 15 that Mr. Rizvanovic rated Sagicor "sector outperform." The shares could then be had for $7.98. The Globe reported on Oct. 21 that Ravenstone Capital's Daymon Loeb was keen on Sagicor. It was then worth $8.27.
