The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Jan. 12, edition that BMO Nesbitt Burns analyst Rene Cartier, in response to Thursday's announcement of Solaris Resources' $130-million private placement with an affiliate of Zijin Mining, cut his Solaris share target to $15 from $17. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $16.19. Mr. Cartier says in a note: "Beyond the baseline funding with Orion, the announcement with Zijin provides meaningfully more capital to deliver a larger and more technically robust project. While we view the announcement as a net positive for Solaris, incorporating the share dilution results in a slight lowering of our target price." The Globe reported on Nov. 23, 2021, that Mr. Cartier rated Solaris Resources "outperform" in new coverage when it could be had for $13.15. The Globe reported on July 19 that Canaccord analyst Dalton Baretto had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Solaris. The shares could then be had for $5.86.
