Ximen begins 2024 drilling at Brett

2024-08-22 16:33 ET - News Release

Mr. Christopher Anderson reports

XIMEN MINING DRILLING COMMENCES AT BRETT EPITHERMAL GOLD PROJECT - VERNON BC

Ximen Mining Corp. has completed mobilizing crews and equipment, and is commencing the 2024 drill program at its Brett epithermal gold project near Vernon in Southern British Columbia.

All equipment including a diamond drill, D6 Cat, Hitachi excavator, and ancillary pumps and hoses has been mobilized to the Brett property, and a temporary camp has been established. Access trails have been reopened, and the drill is being moved onto the site of the first drill hole for 2024. Fieldwork, including prospecting and surveying activities, is also under way.

The drill program is designed to extend the most prominent mineralized zone at the Brett, at the Main zone to the southeast and at depth, and to test for extensions to the New Discovery zone (located east of the Main zone). Drill holes were designed and ranked using limits including gold soil anomalies, pathfinder element soil anomalies, resistivity, induced polarization chargeability, magnetic anomalies, very low frequency anomaly, lidar lineaments, porphyry proximity and high gold assay proximity.

The first drill hole is designed to confirm results of historic holes on the Main zone and test a western zone of anomalous gold.

The Brett project (20,043 hectares) covers low-sulphidation epithermal-style gold mineralization hosted in Eocene Penticton group volcanic rocks. Epithermal-style gold mineralization was discovered in 1983, and a 291-tonne surface bulk sample was shipped to the smelter at Trail, B.C., in the 1990s that averaged 27.74 grams per tonne gold and 63.7 grams per tonne silver (Brett 2017 National Instrument 43-101 report). Multiple zones of mineralization occur over a two-kilometre strike, including both bulk-minable and bonanza high-grade styles. Ximen conducted lidar and airborne magnetic surveys over parts of the Brett property in 2022. Interpretation, 3-D modelling and target refinement were then completed in preparation for the 2024 drilling program.
