XTRACT ONE TECHNOLOGIES SELECTED BY METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE TO ENHANCE SECURITY FOR WORLD-CLASS EVENTS

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has selected Xtract One Technologies Inc.'s Xtract One Gateway for deployment across both its north and south buildings in downtown Toronto. The deployment, a five-year contract, will see 16 Xtract One Gateway systems installed across a dozen or more entry points in two phases, reflecting growing interest in Xtract One Gateway from major convention and event facilities across North America.

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is one of North America's most active and high-profile convention destinations. The facility features 442,000 square feet of exhibit space, 77 meeting rooms, multipurpose ballrooms and a state-of-the-art theatre for performing arts and corporate events. The MTCC evaluated a number of vendors through a rigorous RFP procurement process before selecting Xtract One Gateway, with the unique operational requirements of a convention facility. The system identifies and classifies specific threat objects while accurately distinguishing them from everyday items, without requiring individuals to stop, remove items or submit to bag checks. Security staff receive specific alerts identifying what triggered and exactly where on the individual's body, making secondary screening faster and more precise. The system's portability allows it to be repositioned and reconfigured between events without requiring new installation or calibration.
